The Truth About Hair Extensions (That No One Wants to Tell You)

Let’s be real for a second… if you’ve ever been told that one brand of hair extensions is better than all the rest, you’ve been lied to.

And yes, I said it.
cough cough Especially if the brand just so happens to be owned by the same company trying to sell you their “exclusive method” while pushing their hair as the best on the market. Convenient, right?

So here’s the deal...

I’ve had a few potential clients slide into my DMs with things like:

“Hey, I want extensions but I’d prefer if you use [insert brand here].”

And I don’t blame them!
Non-hairstylists are being heavily marketed to by brands that only sell to licensed professionals, but their real target? You, the client.

They want to create demand by making you think there’s only one “premium” option so that when you show up to your stylist, you ask for their product.
Why? Because that’s where the $$$ is.

But here’s the thing: I don’t play that game.
And here are 3 reasons why I don’t take client hair brand requests

1. I Trust My Sources (And My Clients Trust Me)

I’ve built real relationships with my hair suppliers.
I’ve tested their products, seen how they wear over time, and I know exactly how to deliver a flawless, long-lasting install with them.

I guarantee the hair I use because I’ve worked with it.
If I’ve never touched the brand you’re asking for, or worse, if I’ve had a bad experience with it—you better believe I’m not putting that in your head.

2. I Custom Color Every Set

Every extension install I do is custom-colored for the perfect blend.
Here’s the issue: a lot of these “famous” hair brands love to coat their hair in silicone to make it look silky in the package. Sounds nice, right? Wrong.

Silicone buildup completely messes with my color formulations.
You might end up with hair that looks good on day one, but doesn’t tone right, doesn’t hold color, and ultimately doesn’t last.

I’m here to create transformations, not temporary illusions.

3. Quality Over Hype

I know Instagram ads and influencer videos can be convincing, but don’t fall for the hype. Just because a brand spends millions on marketing doesn’t mean their product is actually good.

I don’t choose hair based on trends—I choose it based on performance.

Final Thoughts

My job is to give you the best, most natural, damage-free transformation possible. That only works when I’m using tools and hair I trust. So if you're coming to me, trust that you're in very good hands. 💁‍♀️

Want to learn more about what I use and why? Book a consultation and let’s talk about what’s actually best for your hair—not what a brand wants to sell you.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
